If there is anything that I’ve learned over my year as plant-based / vegan, it’s that there is a recipe for everything, like a Vegan McDonald’s Big Mac!
When I first began my plant-based journey, I hit many roadblocks. I was a big meat eater and enjoyed takeout dishes like burgers, pizza, ribs, and fried chicken. I was upset that I could not eat the same meals that I was accustom to. But, it just took a little bit of time, patience and research on how to recreate the meals myself, to realize that I can still eat my favorite dishes but in a different way.
Personally, I find creating plant-based options for my favorite dishes to be more exciting than eating the original dish. Maybe it’s because it’s a challenge for me that I get to figure out, or because I’m using some ingredients that I did not need to before. This Vegan McDonald’s Big Mac Recipe is by Plantifully Based and she hit the nail on the head! It tastes just like a Big Mac, all the way down to the famous McDonald’s burger sauce.
All you need to create this burger are buns, vegan cheese, Beyond Meat patties, lettuce, onions pickles, ketchup and a few everyday spices. I enjoyed this burger so much that I made it two days in a row! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did and that you challenge yourself to create the recipes that you love.
