The classic white shirt has been on my list for quite a few years and I’ve owned many generations of it that didn’t quite fit (pun intended!) the exact specifications that I wanted for a white shirt. Over the years, I’ve realized that I do need to pay a little bit more money for the right fit. You can get away with spending under $100 on a white shirt but I doubt that it will last you wear after wear. With that said, I have seen some great styles at The Gap and other stores but the fit of them didn’t suit my body type. So, if you’re headed out for some weekend shopping I suggest adding the white shirt to your list! Below are 5 styles of the white shirt for women that are on my “must-have” list.
I did recently locate a pretty great fitting white linen shirt from the Community line at Aritzia. Just like love, I found it when I wasn’t looking for it and boy did my heart stop. I spotted it as I was leaving the store and immediately grasped it and tried it on. The reason I like this style so much is the natural linen isn’t stiff and looks good even when wrinkled and it’s more of a boyfriend fit so that leaves me with some wiggle room in the shoulders, arms and stomach. The buttons are placed in the right spot so I can leave it slightly unbuttoned and it shows just enough of my chest without closing me off or giving away the goods!
