Spring Organic Skincare Routine

As the seasons change, so does my skincare routine. The reason for this change is because as the season changes from warm to cold and vice versa, my skin changes. In the colder months my skin needs products that are geared towards moisture and help with dryness, cracking and fine lines. In the warm months, my skin needs to become prepared for the sun as I am outside more and just over time, your skin becomes different so it’s best to be able to adapt your routine. Today, I’m sharing my latest spring organic skincare routine.

As I mentioned in one of my lasts posts, I’m overhauling all over my skincare and beauty products to brands who use organic ingredients and if I can’t put in my body, I don’t want it on my body (as my friend very bluntly told me that rocked my world!) so today I’m sharing my latest routine using belif.

If you’ve been following my skincare posts then you’ll know that I’ve had a pretty rough time getting a handle on my skin. I suffered from major cystic acne in all of my hormonal areas and have had acne since I was about 15 years old that effected my face, chest and back. I finally got a handle on it 13 years later when I used Accutane for the first time. I took Accutane for about 8 months and after 1 year, my skin has reverted. This was expected as when you take Accutane in your late 20’s, your skin has a higher chance of reverting, the more times you take it, the lesser your chances.

I don’t advise continuously taking Accutane for clear skin but it is case by case and please speak your Doctor or Dermatologist if you require use of Accuante. I am on it for the 2nd time with a lower dose and for only half the time. You can read about my Accutane story HERE.

While Accutane is doing it’s thing, I’m using my belif products to prepare my skin for the end of my dosage. belif is a Korean brand that only uses pure herbal forumlas and does not use animal origin ingredients and promises never to include dyes or artificial fragrances.

My skin type:
– Sensitive
– Normal – Oily
– Redness
– Blemishes

What areas does my skincare treat?
– Hydration
– Redness
– Blemishes
– Aging
– Balanced skin tone

STEP 1: Cleansing Herb Water – To remove dirt and oils from my pillows overnight – This product is non-slippery, non-oily, non-irritating, refreshing cleansing water. With water-soluble hydrating ingredients, it cleans out make-up and impurities effectively without the need of another step of cleansing and leaves the skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. Cleansing herb water contains Belif’s Tri Herb complex that relieves daily stress and makes the skin clean, clear and fresh.

STEP 2: Peat Miracle Revital Serum Concentrate To hydrate my skin after cleansing and prepare my makeup routine – A rich-nutritious ample for intense skin care including concentrated peat extracts, coming from multiple herbs aged for thousands of years with clean glacial milk in civilization-free peat land. The herb energy revitalizes the skin and cares for potential wrinkles.

STEP 1: Cleansing Gel Oil Enriched To remove my makeup and cleanse my skin – This naturally light gel cleansing oil is highly effective at removing heavy make-up residue while leaving the skin feeling soft and conditioned. Natural Olive and Macadamia oils in the gel cleansing oil removes make-up and impurities without stripping. The softening and detoxifying effects of Semen Benincasae extracts facilitates smoother and luminous complexion.

STEP 2: Cleansing Herb Water – To remove anything that my gel oil missed.

STEP 3: Peat Miracle Revital Cream – To hydrate my skin overnight. – Cell turnover means a cycle of your skin where young cells replace aged skin cells. As you get older, your turnover loses its rhythm and speeds up aging process. Peat miracle revital cream contains peat extract and improves your turnover rate by 9.28%, rejuvenating and hydrating your skin.

*If I feel that my skin needs extra moisture, I will use my Serum Concentrate before my Revital Cream.

STEP 4: Peat Miracle Revital Eye Cream To help with under eye moisture, fine lines, fatigue and dark shades –  Humic acid of peat extract in Peat miracle revital eye cream plumps up the eye area and its GABA ingredient accelerates the production of collagens, which minimizes wrinkles and fine lines around eyes and smoothes skin.

Peat Miracle Revital Clay Mask – Since I have sensitive skin, it’s best to never use a scrub exfoliant. Instead of scrubbing my face to remove dirt and access oils, I prefer to use a clay mask that will lift dirt and oils. – Enriched with peat particles and hebs, this clay mask promises a non-drying formula that acts to tighten pores up while revealing smoother more radiant skin

What is Peat? A brown, soil-like material characteristic of boggy, acid ground, consisting of partly decomposed vegetable matter from the Celtic region.

Are you also using Belif? I would love to hear your recommendations on their other products! If you’re also interested in the use of Accutane, you’re welcome to email me your questions in regards to my experience with it.

Happy skin treating!
