Thrift Shopping Tips

Shopping for thrifted clothing and accessories is something new to me. I’ve always been open to the idea of shopping thrift but when given the chance, would run away at the sight of unorganized racks of clothing. There is nothing more terrifying to me than a messy store filled with items everywhere. My way of shopping thrift has been through curated boutiques where they do all of the organizing and present me with the best options. However, I’ve decided to get myself into the trenches and find the gems on my own! Shopping thrift is the second most sustainable option…

How To Get A Good Night’s Sleep Part II: Flax Sleep Linen Sheets Review

We’re onto part two of how to get a good night’s sleep! On Monday, I mentioned that Alex and I have been having the worst sleeps you can imagine. We continued to be woken up by the cats, light from outside and just a straight up uncomfortable bed. Now that we have our new mattress, our sleep has improved like you wouldn’t believe but a big part of that is from the sheets that we’ve been sleeping on. Previously, we slept on cotton sheets that felt a little rough (in comparison) and we constantly would remove the blankets off of…

How To Get A Good Night’s Sleep Part I: Endy Mattress Review

With 3 cats, or what may as well be 3 toddlers, lots of light streaming in from our window and an older mattress and pillow set… you could say we don’t get the best night’s sleep. In fact, we’ve been waking up throughout the night with troubles of going back to sleep and I wake up with neck and shoulder pains. It’s really not ideal when you have a long day of work ahead of you that includes meetings, fitness classes and just being “on”. So, we decided it was time to fix the issues and focus on how to…

How I Photograph & Edit My Photos

Over the years my aesthetic has shifted from bold, lots of white, high saturation and low light with a fade. Currently, my aesthetic leans more towards non-direct sunlight, less shadows and a more natural and faded style. I will preface this post by saying that I do not take all of my own images. I’ve been lucky to work with talented photographers that all lend their styles to my images and for almost a year I did acquire a principal photographer to assist me with all of my blog work. I highly recommend this for anyone that has a heavy work…

Vancouver Events: Vallea Lumina in Whistler

Three weeks ago I was among the first 600 in Vancouver to preview the long-awaited Vallea Lumina launch. Held at Whistler’s Cougar Mountain, Villea Lumina is an immersive light and sound experience along a 1.5 km lush rain forest walk. We didn’t know what to expect and as we entered the space were quickly enchanted with a lit trail and ominous sounds of the forest. As we wandered along the trail, we realized that this is a full on sensory experience! Using a combination of emotive lights, videos, soundscape and scenography, we were transported to another world, with plenty of opportunities to…
