Currenly listening to: Years & Years – Eyes Shut
I ended my week and began my weekend on a high note with peeked interest. I walked to 611 Alexander, opened the door, pushed the elevator button to the 4th floor and looked for the signs that read “First Dates Canada Auditions Room 409”. I waited for about 15 minutes until it was my turn to sit in front of a camera and answer questions from 4 other women in the room.
“When was the last time you were in love?”…”How do you keep a sex life going with a long distance relationship?”…”What is one thing I wouldn’t know about you just by staring at you?”... the questions continued for about 30 minutes until I was told to keep June 25th completely open.
Did I make it?? Am I about to be on a dating show? Who is my date with?? So much anticipation!
Let me backtrack for a moment. About a week ago I was approached at StackHouse by two women from the UK who were looking for single girls to be a part of a new dating show to North America called Date Canada. The show began in the UK and was a major hit! Considering I’m pretty game for anything and the thought of me on a dating show speaks volumes of hilarity…I was in!
So, it turns out that I may be filming it in a few weeks. Singles will be set up with partners suitable for them and all taken to a restaurant to be on first dates. While we are all on a date, staged cameras around the room will watch our every move and hear our every word.
I’m nervous and very excited to find out who my date will be. What if I know him?! That may make it a lot easier actually, less intimidating.
