Friday Thoughts: Life, Dating and the Rest

Between the round-ups, how-tos and listicles that I post on here sometimes it can be far in between where I chat about life. In case you’re a new reader just note that this wasn’t the case a year ago. Before joining the team at Robson Street I found myself chatting more about my life, relationships, travel plans, etc. I think now that I’m spending the majority of my days at the office I’m feeling a little uninspired as my daily routine is not what it used to be.

A year ago, I had spent my days frolicking around coffee shops, boutiques, friend’s studio spaces and filled my days with alone time, meetings, photo shoots and the other. I think working from an office space 4 days a week has had me a little uninspired and writing about how-tos and round-ups was the easy choice for me when I didn’t have the energy to write a blog post.

I used to write about my life, a lot. I don’t know if you remember but for a couple years I used to write about my dating life in Vancouver and even the dates themselves. I would tag each of my dates with a name like “The Mathematician Vancouver Newbie From Edmonton” and break down how the date went. Sometimes they knew and most of the time they didn’t… which proved to show how much they were into me because they should have read my site.

Then, I entered a relationship (pre-Alex) and decided to stop. I should have continued because that one was worth writing about, especially how it ended. Fast forward to Alex and with him being a more private person I felt it was appropriate to not write about our relationship in detail. However, I’ve played with the idea of writing posts on relationships in general with ideas that stem from our relationship. Ideas like: How to talk about having kids and getting married, who pays for what and what it’s like to move in together. But I’m still playing with it.

In other news, I’m down to my last 2 months at the Robson Street office and 3 months to go before Sabrina and I jet off to the amazing city that is Paris. I’ve never been before so this will be a trip of a lifetime! Please send any recommendations you may have. We found a cute little place in the 1st arrondissement just a 5 minute walk to the Louvre. We’re spending our time there during Paris Fashion Week but don’t have any intentions on hitting up the shows… just yet. We’ll see where the week takes us!

Well, that’s my life update for now. I think it’s time to bring more of it back. Have a great weekend!
