Earlier in the week, we discussed how to create a wardrobe fit for your office attire. We touched on the questions to ask yourself and what you’ll need and how to wear them. Today, we’re taking some of your office wear items and trying them on the for the weekend.
Having a multi-functional wardrobe is key for someone like myself who is on a budget, is on the go and is a low maintenance dresser. If you missed my posts on “How to Shop“ and “Office Wardrobe“ click here and here.
The items that we’re restyling for the weekend are my sweater, coat and jeans.
You may recognize this sweater as it’s the exact same Banana Republic sweater I wore in my office post, but in a different colour! I like to purchase the same items in multiple colours so that it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing the same item over and again. You may also really enjoy the fit but don’t want to over wear it so having multiples can elongate the length of their closet life. See how I styled this sweater in grey for the office here.
For the weekend, I’ve paired the sweater with black jeans. Black jeans are my go-to denim when working in the office. I feel like blue is a bit too casual for the office unless it’s end of the week.
A black coat is a necessity for a multi-functional wardrobe. It’s a coat that you can dress up and down, wear to the office or on the weekend and packs easily for travel because it sits flat when buttoned.
Essentially, this entire outfit can be worn at the office but to make this cute and comfortable look more casual for the weekend, I’ve paired it with some New Balance runners.
What do you think? Do you have enough items in your work wardrobe to recreate a casual look for the weekend?
