Cha Le Tea Merchant Cafe + Shop

Typically, when you go out for tea you pair it with some sort of pastry or sweet. Well, Yaletown’s latest Cha Le Tea (pronounced chah•luh) is changing the game with a specialty line of high quality teas from China paired with toast!

The idea is simple, you order tea and toast but the let me tell you the flavour is anything but simple. From 6 savory toasts to 2 sweet toasts, Cha Le Tea offers Prosciutto Smashed avocado and poached egg to flavours that include the tea with a Hand Peeled Shrimp Matcha avocado and shredded nori all the way to Chocolate Toast with milk chocolate, hazelnut & roasted Iron Goddess of Mercy spread – this is legitimately tastier than Nutella. I’m serious!

I had the pleasure of tasting their menu last week and I cannot wait to head back. Have you tried it yet?? Take a peek at their full menu HERE or scroll down!

The truffled ricotta and hazelnut one looks scrumptious, reminds me of a white gourmet pizza. Would be interesting to try with tea though – tea is definitely not the first beverage that comes to mind for a perfect pairing for this treat… :D
