Travel Diary – Australia Week 1

I cannot believe that one week has already passed since I left Vancouver. The time really does fly by when you’re having a good time – next time I’ll stay for more than 2 weeks. 1 month minimum.

I’ve fallen in love with Melbourne! I mean, it’s no Vancouver… and it would be very hard to leave my city but I could see myself living here. The people, the food, the fashion and the whole vibe is right up my alley.

I’ve been trying to pack in as much as I can do before Sharday & Av’s wedding on Saturday – after that it will be party, relax, pack up and go to Philip Island.

Here’s what my first week looked like…don’t forget, I’m ahead 19 hours so my days are a day ahead of my city.

Day 1: Travel 25 hours.

Day 2: Got off the plane to head straight to Sharday’s Hens Party for an entire day… haggard and exhausted. It’s amazing what a fresh coat of mascara and some cover up can do! High tea at Madamme Brussels, a quick nap, loft/garage party then picked up in a stretch pink Hummer limo to drive around the city at night then to Sharday’s favorite entertainment – Karaoke!

Day2

Day 3: Relaxing day in Collingwood, coffee shops, sun tanning and a BBQ with Sharday’s family.

Day3

Day 4: Pouring rain!! Spent the day at Melbourne Central & Emporium perusing the shops – even got to see my first Myer Christmas window! Spending the next week with my dear friend Amy!

Day4

Day 5: Drove the Great Ocean Road to stop at every beach on the way. This is when I really felt like I was in Australia – SO MANY surfer boys. The views were spectacular… and the scenery wasn’t bad either! Ha! ;) Also stopped for a chill at Erskine Falls.

Day 6: Shopping in Fitzroy on St. Brunswick Street, drinks on the rooftop at Naked For Satan then into the city for the Victoria Market.

day5

Day 7: Shopping and lunch on Chapel Street, sun tanning on St. Kilda Beach (which according to every Australian is NOT a beach, nor one that you sun tan at… but I was determined to get into my bikini!) Dinner on Acland Street at Rococo and a very random but super fun night at Trivia at one of the most dive looking bars I’ve been to!
