Vancouver Weather Warmth Style < Fashionable Choices

I find Vancouver’s weather to be the one of the hardest to dress for, at least out of all of the cities that I’ve traveled to. Even though I’ve lived in Vancouver for 29 years, I can’t seem to get the outfit right for the temperature! Winter, in my opinion is probably the hardest to dress for. We were under the impression that our winter would be mild and with the first day of winter coming up in a couple of days, it’s been anything but mild. It’s been FREEZING.

“Feels like -15” is not what we’re used to in Vancouver so I tend to reach for comfort and warmth over fashionable and pretty. You’re more likely to catch me walking down the street looking like a black marshmallow with eyes because I’ll bundle myself into oblivion! But how does one dress in these temps when they need to go to a function? That’s the golden question! I’ve seen women walking outside at night in dresses and open toe heels and they’re freezing their toes off. That’s not my thing!

I’ll opt in for the fashionable but warm look. Take this outfit for example… I’ve worn my jeans, coat, gloves and boots for warmth and to style it up I’ve chosen this Sincerely Jules star blouse with this ABS faux fur shawl that I found for $23 at Winners. The shawl will be used as my scarf if I wrap it around my neck and I still look put together without my face red from frost bite. Take notes, ladies!

Like the look? Here are 3 other variations that I’m favouring:

  1. Sincerely Jules blouse + 7 For All Mankind jeans
  2. C/Meo Collective blouse + Levi’s jeans
  3. Lovers + Friends blouse  + Frame jeans
