Reflections Pt 1: Making friendships in blogging

In 2008, when I launched the blog “The-Unprecedented” I didn’t fathom what could have come of it. I had an idea that I would share my fashion inspirations and musings, maybe receive a few comments from readers and have a platform to speak. Little did I know that after a whirlwind 8 years, I would have conceived my closest and most intimate friendships. Thankfully for the Vancouver blogging community, I was able to meet Leonie & Sharday! These two ladies have not only been my best friends but my colleagues, my words of wisdom, my support system, my laughs, my shoulders to cry on and my inspiration & reflection.

When we met, our styles were complimentary but very different. After one year of growth together our personal styles began to form as one and we collaborated on our first photo shoot together. It was very #girlboss, as Sophia Amoruso’s book took over the female entrepreneurial scene. We all dawned black, white and grey and strutted with conviction and were a three-person girl gang. It was very us at the time. Click HERE and HERE to see them.

Two years later we’ve grown a little more but our style still reflects each other. A couple of weeks ago Leonie gave us a visit from Berlin so we knew we had to collaborate once again. Today I bring to you part one of our two-part collab. Our outfits look like we planned them together but we honestly didn’t even know what each other was going to wear until we came out of our stalls and saw what we each had on! Black and green (olive or jade) is probably my favourite colour to go with black and one of the easiest to pair.

A big thank you to Sephora on Robson Street for our makeup and One Of A Few & Avelon for our clothing. Head on over to Sharday & Leonie’s sites to see more images.
