Holiday parties are in full effect starting this weekend and I must say, I sort of steer clear of them because of the pressure to have a different outfit for each event. Do you also feel that way? Maybe it’s because I’m usually taking photos of my outfits but I feel like I can’t really wear the same outfit unless it’s maybe a family event or one with super close friends. In the case that I need multiple dresses for the season, I like to stick with a budget. Usually, $100 is my max budget for one dress but if it’s a reeeaalllly nice dress and my cost per wear can get under $20 then I’ll jump on one a little more expensive.
If you’re also looking for some holiday dresses this season, I’ve selected 20 beautiful black dresses starting at $30 and all under $200!
Here’s what I look for when shopping for a holiday dress:
- Is it black? Obviously.
- Does it have pockets? Not a must but it’s always a bonus. I never know what to do with my hands.
- Can I match any of my current jackets with it?
- Is it made of a breathable material? I hate to sweat at a party.
- Make sure it’s not see-through. Do the photo test!
- Can I wear it again?
- Can I dress it up and dress it down? Not always the case but another bonus.
The dress in my photos is from BCBGMAXAZRIA and a little over budget. I got to sport this LBD for a segment on Novus TV with Robson Street to be aired soon!
Are you heading to any holiday parties this season??
